Face painting at Legoland

I love seeing the kids with their faces painted. I don't know why but I love it. I still have the picture of the boys from two years ago with their faces painted on our refrigerator in Mali. So I had a hard time limiting these pictures, thus it deserves its own post. :)

Our eagle. He chose this and never turned back. We offered other things that covered more of the face or whatever and he said no. All he wanted was this.

Our fire breathing dragon with sparkly blue paint.

Flying while waiting for his brother to finish.

                                                                          Spiderman

Kenan was roaring, thus the face. Dawson was afraid to move and Silas was just happy.

Like I said, he was happy. :) He's also starting to fly again.

Kind of like a dancing flying, I guess.

Brett pointed out to them that they all could fly so they proceeded to fly throughout the Lego City.

                                                              Watching a 4D movie.

Family picture at the end of the day

Silas checking out the inside of the camel.

On the way out at the end of our day. Lots of smiling adults with very tired, yet happy boys.

Legoland

Legoland was so much fun. The boys loved it (and so did the adults)! It is only open from 10am-5pm and we used each and every moment of our time there.

I'm not usually one for kids standing by statues but these were all so cool since they were made out of legos. Kenan always has the funniest expressions. I think he was trying to fight Darth Vader here.

Learning to drive in their own cars. There were stop lights and yield signs on these roads. Pretty neat.

The younger boys had a smaller track to drive on.

Showing off their drivers license that they got. At least the piece of paper. The ones with their pictures were  $15 each. Um, no thanks. A piece of paper works.

                                                                 On to driving boats...

                                                                           Collision!

                                                                        Shark attack

Not too impressed with New York made out of legos.

But the White House was worth looking at complete with a moving marching band and the Obamas on the front porch. No detail was spared.

We had so much fun at Legoland! Thanks to Jaime from Edgewater Alliance who got us tickets! What a GREAT treat!!

Disney

We went to Disney in Florida with Mémère (Brett's mom) and Pop Pop. We had tons of fun. I love watching the kids' faces as they experience everything.

The first ride of the day- Buzz Lightyear. It captures their true feelings. Kenan was excited. Silas was concerned and fearful. Dawson was cautiously taking it all in and loved each moment.

Driving the car. They simply loved this.

I so enjoyed riding this with Silas. I think we laughed the whole time. He wanted to go fast so I would press the gas and he would turn to far so we'd slam into the middle bar so he would try to correct this with another sharp turn and we'd slam into the middle bar (you ride on a track so you can only move the car as much as the bar/track allows). The ride was more like bumper cars with no other cars needed than a race track but it was so much fun.

Back to Buzz Lightyear since they loved it so much.

What day would be complete without Dumbo?

A sign of a good day had by all. I don't know why I love seeing them all sleeping together. It's just sweet. I could sit and watch them for hours.

Brett planned our days out so well. It was great. We decided to have a day of rest in between Disney and Legoland so they would be energized for the second day. This proved to be a good choice. The day off was pretty exciting for them anyway as our hotel had a huge pool and a movie theater! Lots of fun!

Beach fun

One of the many joys of being in Florida with Brett's mom is that she lives only 3 blocks from the beach. The boys have really loved the beach this time and aren't afraid to really get into the waves. They have also enjoyed swimming in her pool. I laughed that we are tanner after one week here than we ever are in Mali.

We got to the beach and Kenan immediately started writing out the alphabet in the sand.

I love how much these boys love each other. They really are best buds.

This would be scary except that Dawson is sitting in front of me now. Still, unnerving to look at him floating like that in the water. :)
