Meet Purr

If bringing a dog across the world to join our family wasn't enough, we now have a kitten as well (from Mali).

I thought the kids wouldn't care much about the cat and we could give her to someone else since I'm not a cat person (mean to say, but it's the truth. my mom raised me to have absolutely no love for cats), but the boys love her. I talked once of giving her away and Dawson was quite sad so she is here to stay.

The boys couldn't decide on a name for days. Finally they decided that since she purrs all the time that we should name her Purr. It was only as I started to tell Jeremie what her name was that I realized that her name sounds exactly the same as "peur" in french, which means fear. Oops. But that is her name and it is not changing.

Silas wanted to be in the pictures so this was him posing.

She lives mostly on our back porch because Caroline still likes to eat her head. :) I'm hoping one day they will get along. She is often found in this chair sleeping.

And to not leave Caroline out, here she is.

I've been quite surprised how good a cat Purr is. The boys will hold her for hours at a time between the three of them. She just sits with them and purrs. She always wants to be around people. Much better than what I expect from a cat. Maybe she will win me over one day...

  1. Purr is cute, loved by the boys but Caroline is still my favorite. :)
