July 27, 2010.
8 years of marriage.
I had to chuckle yesterday at the difference 8 years makes. Gone are the days of walking around Charleston, stopping to get coffee and a movie. Gone are the carefree days. Now it's kiddos and work and Mali. I sat yesterday listening to Silas scream for over an hour instead of sleeping (and deal with throw up three times. no he's not sick, just stubborn). No big outing for the anniversary. Only a show of Office, dessert and then sleep. But I loved it. It was good.
I love you, Brett, with my whole heart. I thank God for you and the blessing to walk through life with you!
and one day you'll chuckle and laugh and say, "gone are the days of babies crying. gone are the snot-stained shirts and spaghetti sauce in my hair. gone are the anniversary celebrations that don't start until after the kids are in bed." ...and you'll miss it! (or so they say!)
ReplyDeleteThis year we celebrated our 6th anniversary without a dinner out, gift exchange, or the like. We were far too busy painting and shuffling boxes! As if our 10 year reunion wasn't a reminder enough...but we're totally old.
Miss you!
Oops! I had it marked and then with the company I let it slip. Yep, kids turn our world upside down. I asked Ben today if having children was everything he thought it would be. I just got a look and a shake of the head. I had to smile. Promise they do grow up... and become teenagers. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated anniversary to the two of you. Great picture.
