Christmas 2015

My goal for our time in the US was to get up to date on the blog. We are a week away from leaving so I decided I really needed to get to work. :)

My parents came out for Christmas and, as always, we had a good time together. They came earlier enough that we waited to put up our tree with them. Haven enjoyed being in the center of things. She chose the tree skirt as her cape.

Then she added crazy flip flops that we keep in our Christmas box for a White Elephant gift.

Papa teaching Dawson how to put on the Christmas lights. Having my dad put the lights on the tree makes it really Christmas. It is how it should be. :)

H added her decorations to the tree when we were done.

Building a gingerbread house. It didn't last long at all before it started being eaten.

Haven spent most of our morning opening gifts eating chocolate.

Introducing her new baby to her old one.

Per tradition, we had a big breakfast after opening up gifts.

Christmas morning we headed off to church. I have really come to like this practice. Gifts are opened on an earlier day so Christmas day is just about the Jesus, as it should be.

The boys wanted to put on a Christmas play so we worked on it for several weeks in school. We had been studying circuits and electricity in science so we made a circuit for Kenan to wear on his halo as he was an angel in play. He was a slightly forgetful angel which is very fitting for him. :) With only three students, we had to be creative to find a play that would work and allow lots of costume changes so we could have enough people to tell the story. It was a fun experience. I wouldn't say the play went off without a hitch, but everyone had fun so that's what is important.

We had chocolates out to snack on so Haven made sure she got enough for herself and stored some for later. (If you can't tell she has chocolates under each arm).
